Seller Listing Terms
Last updated: 17 September 2026 · Effective date: 17 September 2026
1. Authority to advertise
By submitting a listing, you confirm that you own the business, have authority from the owner, or are professionally instructed (for example as a broker or agent) to advertise it. You must not list a business without permission to do so.
2. Accurate information
You are responsible for ensuring your listing is accurate, lawful and not misleading — including the asking price, location, tenure, turnover, profit, rent, rates, licences, staffing and any other claims you make. Clearly identify estimates as estimates, and do not present unverified figures as audited information.
3. Photographs and content
You confirm that you own the content you submit, or have permission to use it. You grant RestaurantsForSale.uk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for the duration of your listing to host, resize, reproduce and promote that content on the website, in marketplace emails, and through our social channels for the purpose of advertising your business.
Do not upload confidential information, personal documents, bank details, defamatory material, misleading images, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
4. Review and publication
Payment does not guarantee publication. We may review your listing, request reasonable changes, decline prohibited or irrelevant content, correct formatting, suspend a listing while concerns are investigated, or remove a listing that breaches these terms. We will not materially change the commercial meaning of your listing without your agreement.
5. Package and term
Your package, price, duration and included features are those displayed and confirmed at checkout — see our current Pricing page for the package table. Your listing term begins when the listing is published, and runs for 12 months, unless checkout clearly states otherwise. Features that depend on information, images, or third-party platforms you supply can only be delivered where the necessary material and access are available.
6. Enquiries
Buyer enquiries are sent using the contact details associated with your listing or account. You are responsible for responding to enquiries and for handling buyer information lawfully and securely. Do not add enquirers to a marketing list without the appropriate permission.
7. Marking a business as sold
You must update or mark your listing as sold promptly once it is no longer available. We may update a listing’s status ourselves where reliable information indicates the business has sold or is no longer on the market.
8. Prohibited listings
We may refuse or remove listings that are fraudulent, illegal, unrelated to food or hospitality, duplicates, misleading, discriminatory, unauthorised, or that present an unacceptable risk to users or the marketplace.
9. Fees, cancellation and refunds
See our Cancellation and Refund Policy for the full policy. Checkout will always display the total price and whether renewal is automatic before you pay.
10. Facebook and other promotion
Where your package includes social promotion, we schedule the stated number of promotional posts while your listing is active — see the current Pricing page for what each package includes. Timing, wording and placement remain subject to moderation, platform availability and Facebook group rules. Promotion does not guarantee views, enquiries, or a sale.
11. No guarantee of sale
Paying for a listing does not guarantee enquiries, an offer, a particular sale price, or completion of a sale.
12. Contact
Questions about a listing or these terms can be sent to [email protected].
